anyone else experience something like this? I received an email with a request letter attached from sydney VO yesterday requesting for a police clearance certificate from the USA after I already submitted police certificate from my current country of residence, but the problem is I have never been inside the USA since both my attempts of b-2 tourist visa was refused. Only been transitted to the US with my C-1 transit Visa for connecting flights from home country to Canada and vice versa. Does anyone knows if this was a miscommunication on the VO side? since i have never been inside the country why would i need a police clearance certificate from the USA?

Doesn't look like an issue, write a letter signed by yourself with the exact details you put on the platform. You will be fine. They are humans working there and mistakes are bound to happen. Once you haven't been there for 6 months plus u do not need the PCC. so even a transit or visit does not mean one needs to get the PCC. Send a webform or direct email to them.

Thanks for the response, yeah i did wrote an explanation letter and sent a webform about the situation. Found it weird for a mistake like this to happen at the VO, so it got me worried at first. Hopefully I will get a response from them soon.

Oh yh personally I think you would be fine, but whatever the case they would communicate with you when they do realise it, or might just go silent when they still realise it so don't stress if anything they wud get back to you soonest.
