It's been three months since my landing and I am trying to call CIC to know where my PR card is. But they allow only calls made from Canada.

Is there a way I could get a Canadian number for outgoing calls?

Any help would be highly appreciated! I am feeling really nervous now, since my employer in Canada is waiting for me to get my PR card and join them. :(

i don't think you don't need your pr card to work or enter canada if you've been approved. if service canada accepts the COPR paper and a passport to issue a SIN# and healthcare card, then an employer would be able to also. am i misunderstanding what you mean?

if you want to get a canadian number, try skype or magic jack.

You think wrong, The COPR is not a travel document, and it appears the OP is not visitor visa exempt. So to board a plane to Canada, he needs either his PR Card or PR Travel Document, which he can apply for.
For the call centre, try +1 613 944 4000 (for an agent: options 1,2,1,2,1 ... then 0 to skip the message)
There is probably a problem with the card, so he is going to have to apply for a PRTD to get back to Canada.

oh right, i think i missed the part where he already landed! i though he was saying he needed it to land and start his job. yes, he would need the travel document if he's not visa exempt. my apologies.

And why are you outside Canada in the first place? Your employer is waiting..why not simply stay and start your job.

This landing and leaving Canada afterwards crap is getting on my nerves. Come here, stay here, one cannot live in two places at the same time. Then people come on this board expecting miracles to happen..

Thanks everybody!

@polara69 : I am currently employed in USA. I did my landing and came back to US. A couple of weeks back, I got interviewed via telecon and offered a very good job in Vancouver. So I am planning to move now.
