Hello computergeek

I have looked through the forum and read lots of your comments.
I have come across the same situation receiving the fairness letter.

In this letter they are staying that my medications are too expensive (Triumeq $14,989 per year) and they need to know if I have a plan to reduce that cost (allowed $6,450). I talked to my family and HIV doctors as well as social workers and they all are trying to come up with a cheaper option for my treatment. I am a very stable patient. CD4 880 and see my specialist once in 6 months. They were talking about generic drugs yesterday but still searching an option for me (have time to respond until July 18th)

I was diagnosed with HIV in Canada while I was here as a student and now I am in the process of getting my PR after graduating from university here in BC.

Social worker contacted me today and advised to consult with a lawyer (he may help all of them to come up with a better wording form this response). I really hope that my case is not hopeless. If you have a good lawyer who can consult me with this regards, I would appreciate that a lot.

Thanks a lot. Looking forward to hear back from you

Recently received a letter for procedural fairness and just wondering how I can reply and submit the required information. Does anyone know how to do this? I can't seem to find out if it is done online or through regular mail and it doesn't specify in the letter. Tried searching the forum and can't find anything either. Please help! Oh and if anyone can recommend a lawyer specializing in medical inadmissibility that would help too! Thanks!

Hi Everyone,

Just an update. We haven't gotten any letter about my condition. My mom hired an attorney (Jennifer Lu) and we're currently collecting data to prove that I will not be excessive demand. Hope that everyone is well.

Hello,
I have followed this topic since I found my self with HIV+ when I was medical check up that was asked by CIC for my SP. Then because my CD4 count < 300 my doctor said to me to start my ARV regimen. I have start my HAART from end of Dec 2016. My regimen is Efavirenz, Lamivudine, and Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate in FDC or separate pill once in a day. My doctor also state my regimen could be alternated with Atripla which is coverage in province that I will study (BC). When I check all prices in www[dot]pharmacychecker[dot]com(after convert to CAD from USD) for these meds I have found that;

1. Efavirenz 600 mg in a day 6.5 CAD so that 2,372.5 CAD in a year (generic)
2. Lamivudine 300mg in a day 2.37 CAD so that 863.59 CAD in a year (generic)
3. Tenofovir Disporoxil Fumarate 300 mg in a day 2.57 CAD so that 939.51 in a year (generic)
4. Total for this regimen is 4,175.6 CAD annually and this HAART is below the cost threshold 6550 CAD in a year.

5. In other hand my regimen also could alter with Atripla that is covered by BC government if I have MSP. And Atripla price is about 1,941.7 CAD in a year wich is far below the cost threshold.

From this price still I will be listed as medical inadmissibility since my regimen is below the cost threshold?
thanks before for your advice :)

Dear computergeek or anyone to help in here,
Just want to be clear on CIC's "automatic partner notification" policy/Issue.
My PR application (family class) is on its final stages. PP sent & doing my re-medicals
My question on this policy is:
If i could tell the Visa/Immigration officer (during the interview for the policy, as cic's website states there will be an interview) that we both are HIV positive & we both know our status and can notify my partner right way for their convenience,
  1. How am going to notify my partner? (she knows though, will have to do it just only b/s CIC want me to do so)
  2. Will I have to wait the 60 days indicated for my application to resume processing even if i can disclose to my partner immediately? Am really confused & frustrated if i will have to wait months and months again, nothing is clearly put on CIC's website.
Thank you in advance for your feedback!

Hello dear, how did you case end up eventually. I hope you were granted stay in Canada eventually??

NO HIV POSITIVE PERSON CAN'T GET PR...As there is huge chance of spreading HIV bcz of your spouse to others living in Canada and its a major threat for life to Canadians. So better stay in your country.
