Hello guys,

right now im stilll in university studying bachelor in engineering.
i really want to emigrate to canada.. i just thought after i have got my bachelors degree i will enrol in college for 2 year program to get 3 year pgwp.
but now i read a lot of negative comments that it is nearly impossible to find a job in nov 0 , a , b after graduation. because college is worth nothing, canada doesn't accept bachelors degree of other country and i don't have got canadian experience.

is it really so bad? is there someone who just had a bachelor degree got a pg from college and could land a job in a skilled field? i really don't want to canada and waste 3-4 years of time and money to still can't get pr.

my other route would be : i could do m.sc in germany or uk in engineering and then do 1-2 internships in good companies and go to canada to do college degree or other master degree. with this i would have better " standing " to land a job in my 3 year pgwp..

what do u think?? what would be the best option for me? i just don't want to waste my 3 year pgwp to not land a job and not getting pr.
pr and decent job is really important for me.. maybe someone with a college pg can tell me about the situation after graduation. how hard it is to land a job in nov a , b , c ..

thanks guys

If you want to study in Canada, do a Masters - not a college diploma. College diplomas in engineering are effectively useless. They have no value for Canadian employers.

Ok

It is very difficult to find a job in Canada in NOA O,A or B. They all want Canadian experience and your education is outside of Canada is not recognized.

I went for a PG course and had to work for almost a year after graduation in a call centre job to "pay my dues"; however at the end of that year I started to get offers in my field and got a good job.

So, its not impossible to get a good job but expect to work in a survival job to earn that all important experience.

Good Luck!

Soon :)
Always go for master's first, if you can't find any, then you try a PG or dipoloma.

yes, IT careers dont actually need Masters education, all you need is skill set and you will be hired.

I think diploma or masters you only land a job if you have an option of co-op as that helps you get canadian experience while your studying.

Please look for a programe that offers a co-op. Its not important to get masters and spend hundereds of dollars in a university.

You have to work hard to get somewhere in north america its not like people are hiring you with a hige salary back home. You get paid way more at any job that you would complete in Canada and get your pr in one year under any circumstances.

Please do not expect direct job offers and pr,

and of course, even if you don't have much skill set, you can be hired if you know someone in the company, all networking. hard work is just 50-50 here. you need to know the people.

coop option doesnt mean u get an internship by default. If ur doing masters without coop but u find a summer internship that works too. That being said there is a difference between jobs after diploma and jobs after masters. if ur a good student who has got grades 65% or above u should seriously consider going for masters. Masters is always a better career choice than diploma

The second part of the problem is the cost involved masters are usually very expensive where as diploma courses are less expensive and sometimes the better option.

well if u do PG for one year u have to do another one year PG to get 3 year PGWP ...so the cost is some what the same where as u get a mediocre education for the same price. so if ur a good student who can get into a university masters degree then always go for masters .
