I just have a quick question about travel insurance.

If I only have 12 months travel insurance, will I get a 12month IEC Work Permit, or with me saying I plan to buy another 12 months policy while I am in Canada, will that be enough to get a 24month Permit? Thank you!

Hi moorhs .. Are you an australian ? I have read that its mandatory to get 24 months of insurance else the work permit may only be issueed for the duration of your insurance and there is no extension of work permit. you will need to apply all over again.

which company did you find that offers 24 months of insurance. I could not find a single one.

cheers

Yeah I am Australian. I just bought 24months insurance from this website, only 2 companies came up, took me a while to find any that did it more than 18months.

did you try Nomad. don't know about the time frame but it was the only one I could find that would issue insurance once you have left your country

i found a few that didnt need you to be in your country of residence, but the length of the policy was the problem.
I recently went through customs, and I got my permit without even showing any document other than my letter of introduction and passport. all depends on how bad the officer wants to interogate you i guess, good luck
