Hello all. I'm new at this so I'll try to explain the best I can.

I'm brazilian, but I also have Italian citizenship + passport, which I used to come to Canada as a tourist January 30th, to be with my fiancé (also brazilian). We got married (as brazilians) here in Canada Feb-14, so we don't have our Marriage Certificate yet (it takes about 10 weeks to request). He is an international student, and once we receive our Marriage Certificate we will apply for my visa as his wife.

The thing is, we have a wedding outside Canada April-14, and we'll be back April-17. When we come back to Canada, will the 90 days countdown start again?! Will it be a problem if we don't have the Marriage Certificate yet (we have a document the judge gave us at the wedding day, but that is just a proof that we got married that day.)?

Thank you all!!!

As a tourist, can't I stay for 90 consecutive days? I heard about 6 months, but I thought that was for visas (I don't need a visa on my Italian passport).

Please provide the source for that 90 consecutive day thing you are mentioning (maybe you are subject to rules we are not aware about).

Where are you travelling to?

I apologize, it's for the US the 90 days rule, not Canada.

We will be traveling to Roatán Apr-11 to my husband's brother's wedding.

Thank you again.

Roatán ... where is that? Honduras?

THen yes, when you leave your visitor status expires. Then when you come back your eligibility will be reassessed, you may be given up to 6 months or be refused entry.

Yes, Roatán is a part of Honduras. So basically, it means a whole new "process". Would it maybe be a problem if we don't have the marriage certificate yet?

Thank you again!! (is there a "thank you" button?)

I wouldn't think that is a problem.... but better think in advance how to show the CBSA officer that you are a genuine visitor in Canada (and not planning to stay as a visitor in the long term).

Hello, people! Just here to thank you for the advice and information. Everything went well on the trip and on the way back in. A few questions asked, but no further issues.

Thank you!!
