Need to travel during visa processing

Hello,

I am living in Pakistan and have applied for Canadian visit visa in April and my application is currently in process. Meanwhile, I have got to travel to another country and want the Canadian high commission, Islamabad to temporarily release my passport. Are there any issues in taking my passport back? I hope this will not cause any additional delay to my already submitted visa application.

I have contacted Canadian High Commission Islamabad but so far they have showed pathetic response and are not giving any clear responses.

Does anyone else have faced similar situation. Any idea what is the right way to pursue Canadian high commission, Islamabad in this situation.

Best I way I would think is make the request by fax. And yes it will delay your the process if they are ready to issue visa and they don't have your passport.
