Need to sponsor my child. Need expert help

hi. I m a PR effective March 2012. I had to come back to my home country due to some personal issus. While in my home country I had a daughter who now is 2 months old but not a canadian PR. Now I wish to take her with me to canada (visa required) and sponsor her while shes there. From what I know I may take her there on a TRP or a TRV. browsing through cic.gc.ca , I came across this

A foreign national cannot become a permanent resident in Canada if he or she is inadmissible for reasons other than lack of legal immigration status in Canada.

A temporary resident permit (TRP) holder is inadmissible unless the circumstances that lead to the issuance of the TRP are resolved.

Now what are my options. cuz from what i gather she cant go to canada on a TRP otherwise I wont be able to sponsor her. how do i take her to canada n then what do i do. Sponsoring her while she is outside canada is not a option for me.

You can try applying for a TRV. If refused, try TRP. Once you have a TRP, take her to Canada with you and apply to sponsor her.

thank u for ur help. From what I gather, it seems to need to show proof of return from canada in order to be eligible for a TRV. but our purpose is to take my daughter there n then sponsor her. how would the canadian hig commision react to this . knowing that we dont plan to come back from canada.

Out of interest what of the other parent? Will they be immigrating to Canada?

she s already a PR. only the child is not

I see. If she had not been a PR and was being sponsored the child would have been added as a dependent.

if you apply for a TRP and take the child to Canada your options are:

1. If TRP less than 1 year validity - apply for PR inland on an H&C basis via Vegreville. This will be circa 20 months.

2. If TRP less than 1 year validity - apply outland. Send forms to CPC-M choose visa office in country of child's nationality or last lawful residence of minimum 1 year. An issue here is that the CIC offices will sometimes get confused over this if the applicant is in Canada and send you the forms back wasting your time. If you choose this route make sure you highlight that this route is available in your correspondence.

3. If the TRP is valid for at least 1 year - apply outland choose CPP-Ottawa (in lieu of Buffalo). Another option is not to apply for a TRP and for child to remain with mother abroad. You return to Canada and do outland application choosing visa post as option 2. Downside is you are separated from your family in the interim.

Outland applications are usually faster...what visa post would you be applying from?
