Hi all,
A bit confused about what to do. I obtained residency in September 2007 under my mom who was the principal applicant and at that time I was only 18. I spent one year in a Canadian university before deciding that I didn't like the system and instead went on to enter medical school in the UK in September 2008, which was my original choice of education before we obtained Canadian PR.
Even though I've been studying in England, I have spent all my holidays in Toronto, living with my mom + aunt in my aunt's house in Toronto, ie Easter break, Christmas break, and summer break which adds up to about four months in total for every year.
Including the one year that I spent studying in Vancouver, I've clocked up more than enough for the required residency obligation of 2 years out of 5 but have no idea how to provide proof of this. I have e-tickets emailed to me by the airlines of all my trips back and forth to Canada and England, but that's about it. I don't have any tax forms or whatever, because I've never worked a fulltime or a parttime job in Canada seeing as I only spent my holidays here, and only plan to look for a job after I graduate in 2013; and even then it will be complicated as I will have to do conversions for my medical degree etc, which I don't mind doing of course... It's just that I have to apply to renew my PR card soon and I don't know what to do if they ask me for proof of residency? I've been living in my aunts house for all my holidays and umm yeah.. Also I don't have enough space to fill in my travel history as I've definitely left the country more than four times over the past 5 years.
Can someone out there please help me out if they've been in a similar situation? What should I do? I'm scared that my PR renewal will be rejected even though I've made every effort to be here more than 2 years out of the 5!
