NEED TO KNOW ABOUT MY CHANCES FOR PR

Hello, I applied for FSWP through EE back in 2023. I had been in contact with a local immigration consultant. I recently had joined a work place that couldn’t increase or decrease my CRS but was very relevant to my NOC (healthcare) but it was just too recent and I was afraid that I wouldn’t get reference letter if I was selected in the draw. My immigration consultant told me to not mention it unless it’s 6 months or so and I agreed.

I got ITA exactly 6 months later but I hadn’t mentioned this experience in EE. I got to know from various fora and the same consultant that I can’t mention something in ITA that wasn’t in EE. Please keep in mind I was still working this extra job in addition to the job I have had for 3 years. But right around this time my dad was diagnosed with liver cancer and I really couldn’t give a damn about anything else. He was everything to me. My application responsibility was solely on the consultant now and I submitted whatever he asked me. Then in February my dad passed away and I also got a refusal on my PR application for lack of complete documents. The consultant wouldn’t even pick up my calls.

In the same month I thought of creating another profile and this time I had no choice but to list the experience that I had omitted previously. I couldn’t work two jobs any more so I had to quit this one and I was assured by my administration that I would get reference letter for any future job. My CRS score was not affected but later on I got to know that my eligibility was only possible because of this work experience as it fell in the recent 3 year bracket while my previous long experience could no longer make the cut. I didn’t expect to get another ITA but I got it in July. Now the issue is that I submitted all my documents, my biometric and medical is also done but I keep getting told that my chances are slim. I submitted my LOE and I came very clean in it about my role , negligence and the circumstances at the time.

I don’t know why but this time I really want to be able to make it. After my dad I have no one in this country and I just want to leave for a couple of years. I really want some change.

Hi, you don't need immigration consultant, everything you need to provide for the required documents are already on the IRCC website.

It's not clear which stream you received ITA through. If it was through the health care stream or STEM, you must have six months of work experience within the last three years. IRCC will not make exceptions. You must meet this requirement on the day you submit your complete application post ITA. This is mandatory to have a chance of approval.

It was for Healthcare Stream and I had 3 years of work before that I got ITA on and 1 year now that I got the second ITA for. But the later was not mentioned in the previous ITA application I submitted in 2023 even though I was working. It was because at the time of EE I had very less experience at the place and I was afraid I wouldn’t get experience letter for it back then.

That could end up being a problem. You'll have to wait and see if IRCC requests additional documentation.

I won’t have a problem with that if they request it. I just hope that I get to that point at least. From what I am reading, people are saying it’s hopeless. Are you aware of cases where additional documentation in case of verifying previously omitted work experience was asked?

I wouldn't say it's hopeless but I do think it's a challenging situation.

Because you failed to declare this work experience in your first application, IRCC may believe you are committing misrepresentation and faking this work experience in your second application.

Sure, there are cases where IRCC has requested additional documentation where work experience was previously not declared. They could send this as an ADR (additional documentation request) or as a PFL, which is an intent to refuse your application. There's nothing you can really do but wait and have the additional supporting evidence ready if they ask for it. Good luck.

Thank you. I mentioned everything in my LOE. I have pay stubs and my employment card. Do you think these will suffice?

I have no idea. You'll have to wait and see.
