Hi Guys,

I have 8 years work experience in the BPO industry and currently working as Assistant Manager, Training in IBM. But I am not a Graduate. So I have to go for a post secondary program. If I go for a 2 year post secondary diploma program is there any chance of getting a job there? I can't go for a degree program because I don't have the funds for a program with more than 2 years of duration.

Little tough, since you do not have degree.. just imagine, do you able to get admit PG dip course in good university india (not lik manipal)

start networking with college/university to get in PG diploma, if they accept based on your work experience. Then next is visa process..

CHC will think how did you get in PG dip without degree, so make prepare strong SOP while submit visa application.. but sorry to say chances are less..

I am thinking of going for a Post Secondary Diploma in Sheridan. Do you think that's a bad decision?

No Bro. Good choice... But since you got 8 yrs work experience, while visa process time VO think why you are going Post Secondary diploma course at this age especially canada, Y not in india..

am not criticize or make you let down... I think one of forum member in his 35 yrs got 1 year Post secondary diploma study in Canada
(search in forum)... Its all how you are going to justify your case to VO at the time of visa process.

make strong SOP...

What course have you decided to take and what is your BPO job related to?
For last 5 years I am in the Training department in IBM, currently working as Asst Manager -Training. My job responsibilities involve a lot of performance and behaviour management and also for last 6/7 months I have been attending a mentorship program in HR. So I selected the 2 year diploma in Business-Human Resources in Sheridan college. I have written a very strong SOP with lots of examples of how my job responsibilities and interests are aligned with HR.

But you know guys, my real concern is not the Visa. My concern is, even if I get the Visa, will I get I a job after completing a post secondary diploma? That's what I am worried about. I have already applied for the Visa and if I get it, I will have to take a decision. So I would be really obliged if you guys can share your suggestions.

jobs depend on what course u have selected and how much experience u have in that particular field. mostly ever field has job for the one who r good academically and have experience. job search is sometimes frustrating as u have to have patience and keep looking to find a job that would be a right fit for u. do not expect jobs will be lined for u after diploma....diploma/degree is just a paper what matters is how good ur in that field and how well u have performed and ur experience etc.

Hey @rockford... I cant imagine how u been this much lien and worried about to find a job anywhere in the world which has 8 years exp...

Since you got 8 yr exp, (me 2 have).. be sprotive and informative to follow job market internationally, if u want to get in Cda.. then find out info abt your job market for past 10 yrs...

As of my overview u've been exp n able to get into job easily compare than freshers... but its all depends upon job market and demand...

think like this.. if u done u'r degree then get back to india (Embassy wants us like this to say that we will back our home country after studies). how much will increase your work profile, then demand of market.. and package..

clear....

;D
