Hi everybody,

I am currently an Australian citizen aged 21, who met a Canadian man earlier this year. I have been granted a Working holiday visa and leave in January so that we can be together whilst he finishes his university degree.

I was in the process of getting into the Victorian police force, and due to this I have not completed any degree's or certificates as they were not required for this.

To study is very expensive in Canada, so is there any way I can stay there?

My boyfriend works on the Oil fields in Alberta for four months over the summer and studies for the rest of the year, so am i elegible to apply under spouse visa?

We are planning to have bills etc. in both our names to prove we have been living together and in a meaningful relationship.

I am very dedicated in contributing and currently investing in shares and looking at buying a house in Canada depending if i can get loan approval.

I have no criminal convictions and am in great health.

I am an extremely hard worker and strongly believe that I have something to give and contribute to this wonderful country.

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

If you live together for 12 months, he can sponsor you as a common law partner and you can get PR in Canada.

It doesn't matter if he works or not as long as he isn't on welfare. Living together for 12 months might be a problem if he's away for 4 months a year for work. You would have to ask CIC about that. Maybe You'd have to add the extra 4 months and live together for a total 16 before you apply unless you get married in which case you could apply right away.
