Hello Folks,

Could you help answer the below questions regarding validity of the police certificates?

1. I live in the US but go to India once every year. I visited India last year, 2015. My India police certificate was issued on April 2016. How many months is that valid for? My application is in the pool. If I do not get an ITA in October and go to India in November for 15 days. I have to apply for another police certificate once I come back?

2. My US police ceritificate was issued in August. How many months is it valid for?

3. I keep visiting other countries for few days (2-3 days) for business purpose. I do not need police certificates from those countries correct?

Thanks very much for the help. I keep reading different comments regarding PCC valid period . So want to get some clarification.

Regards
Riya

1. valid for 1 year
2. valid for 6 months for the current country of residence
3. you need pcc if you have accumulated stay for more than 6 months in that country
* you should also prepare fbi clearance which takes longer time

1. PCCs for countries you do not currently live in are valid until you return to that country.
So you will need a new Indian PCC after you get back to the US from India on your next visit.

thats the best thing to do

Thanks friends for the answers.
Regarding point #1. It's really frustrating because I will be visiting India only for 10 days. The duration of my stay will be really short. But I guess it is what it is :(
I will either postpone my India trip or get another PCC once I come back to the States.
