How does it work to get your police check done for Brazil doing an outland application from within Canada?

I would take a guess and try to contact the Brazilian Consulate as a first step.

Good Luck

You get them at Policia Federal website and Secretaria de Segurança Publica of the state that you live in Brazil.
Here is the link to access Policia Federal website.

p.s: you have to send the originals certificates and translations to CIC.

If you are in canada, can they be translated in brasil and then mailed? The applicant will be in canada before she asks for the police check, so she would not be able to pick them up in person. Can a family member or someone else do that for her? Also how long does it take to receive from policia federal and secretaria de seguranca publica?

The brazilian applicant (sponsored person) will print those police certificates, you get it at Policia Federal website. I did that living in Canada already. Once being in Canada, she can use some canadian translator if she wants or if she prefers, a brazilian one. Just have to follow the rules at Sponsorship Guide.

Here the CIC link to get info about police certificates in Brazil:

Here is the link to Sponsorship outside Canada - Guide to Latin America (Brazil):

Good luck!

You're welcome :)

I live in Quebec so I used an accredited translator services in French.
But I am sure you can find some good translator at Association of Translator in your province.
Good luck!

Thanks again!

I'm glad to help you!
Feel free if you have any question.

Just a question, how does she get this document?

A Certidão de Antecedentes Criminais, issued by the state authority. Contact the state authority directly, using the local directory for assistance.

We are not sure how to obtain this one from here in Canada.

Can anyone help? Re: Need information on police check for brazil

We are having trouble with trying to get the three certificates online for the police checks? How did you manage to get all three with online forms or is there another way from Canada? The first seems easier, the other two seem to be the problem. She is from Santa Catarina.
A Certidão de Antecedentes Criminais, issued by the federal police. Consult their website at www.dpf.gov.br for instructions.
