Hi ,

I want to apply for study course in Canada with a future prospect for PR.

At present, my age is 35 yrs, married and have masters degree. Total work 12 yrs.... 4 yrs in NGO and 8 yrs as Corporate Trainer.

I wish to pursue my studies in any of the following area....

a) Post graduate diploma in training and development
b) Course in Social work
c) Course in Special education for Children

Request is to suggest the effective course and university in the respective courses. And it should have better job opportuities.

Thanks

Tee

Future prospects for PR kinda depends on the length of your program, a lot of people opt for a 2 years program as it makes you eligible for a 3 years post-graduation work permit which is a sufficient time to find yourself a job and gain some Canadian work experience then apply to one of those immigration programs which lead to PR.

Most of the diplomas and post graduate certificates are 8 months long which means you'll be getting an 8 month post-graduation work permit and it would be kinda hard to find a job and gain some work experience in such a short period (I am saying Canadian work experience because some immigration programs and some provinces require you to have at least 6 months of work experience in CANADA -if not in the same province in which you want to settle- to be eligible for applying to PR). Thus, it would be difficult to do all this in 8 months. However, if you are planning on doing such a short program, try to go for a co-op one as it makes the things mentioned above more easier.

Finally, I would say it all depends on your luck, I am sure there are some people who had 8 months PGWP and eventually managed to find jobs, apply and get PR.

Lets see what other members have to say about this.
