Need info on Canada FSW visa

Dear Friends,

I (from India) want to apply for FSW (Software Engineer) visa this year. I am trying to apply in my own as I felt consultancy fees are exorbitant. So, can someone in this forum give complete details about

- what documents to send?
- where to send the documents?
- Police certificate
- I have completed IELTS with 8.0 band

I am reading official CIC website for all the details, but I am not sure whether my understanding is 100% or not! It will be greatly advantageous for me if you can provide a complete picture of this visa process.

CIC very likely won't reopen the FSW occupation list program in 2014 since they have announced that the new EOI process is going to be introduced in January 2015.
