I was arrested for domestic battery 2 years ago with a ex girlfriend the case was dismissed and closed i never had to plea guilty or go to court or anything . So we were wondering if that is going to have any play in the application. rather then that my record is clean. Any info will help.

Can't speak for any other country, but when I applied for my police certificate it said, "This is to certify that [Irishladyloo] was not convicted of any crimes while living in Ireland at the following addresses...."

So, I'm assuming since you were not convicted of anything, you will be fine.

I would say if you wanted to know for sure the state of your record, just apply for a police cert now and see what comes back. Like anything that is included in the application, it will obviously be considered carefully by the visa officer. If all is as you say it is (you were not guilty, you never had to go to court, you weren't formally charged (I'm actually not clear on this one), you weren't convicted and the case was ultimately dismissed), then it should be fine. Honesty is *always* the best policy, though.
