Hello! My name is Suruchi Patil and I recently got married in June 2022. My husband is a PR and I am a student and we live together since October 2020. We are apply for spouse sponsorship inland and My query is that my study permit expired in March 2022. And I have being in bridging process ever since and I haven’t got any specific date until when I can stay in Canada. If my husband sponsors me will there be any consequences based on my situation?
We are filing the sponsorship by ourselves and no agent is involved in the process. Do you think we need an agent for our situation or we are good to go by ourselves?
Please help me! Any suggestions will do!

Thank you!

Based on my experience, I didn’t hire an agent or immigration lawyer because it’s very expensive, we can’t afford. We did our paper application on our own. We did a lot of research and tried to understand the instructions very well. It was returned once due to missing signatures. We resubmitted again, in 2 months, we got an AOR and it’s still in process. But it’s up to you, if you can afford an agent or if you’re confident enough to do it on your own, then go for it.

The problem is my study permit is expired and I have sent it to extend. If I apply for PR through my husband it won’t be declined right? Bcuz I don’t have any status here now.

If you already have extension applied you should be fine because immigration will have the information in their system. I would suggest write a explanation letter showing any application# /acknowledgement you received on your application. Also did you apply 90 days before expire and still awaiting your decision?? because if you passed 90 days after expiry and after which you applied for student permit then that's illegal status

Yes I applied before 90 days! Also one more question! Is it okay if we don’t put police clearance of india on the file right now and then add it later on? I mean I am filling application today for PCC. I have to wait 4 -6 weeks for the respond. Is it okay If I don’t put the few certificates right now and add it later to the file?

I am so CONFUSED!!!! Please help!

Nope you cannot do that , because as part of document checklist you need to provide all the required document upfront , in your case from india and canada since you are living in canada and the prime applicant . It’s better give more document and all document ahead so they don’t reject your application or just on hold waiting for you to submit the documents when asked
