Hi guys .. So I have this issue I want to discuss ..
I want to file for a Study Permit for a program starting this Fall, but the CIC website states that I need to submit the police character certificate from every country where I've stayed for 6 months or more since turning 18. So for me, that would be two countries: My own country and the US. First one isn't an issue, but the second one is. FBI are the ones who issue the police character certificate for the US, and on their website it states that current estimated time to get the police character certificate is 12-14 weeks, excluding mailing transit time !! If I wait that long, September will come anyway and I would still have to apply for the Canadian Study Permit :/
So can this be reasoned with the Canadian government, that I don't have to provide the FBI police character certificate, at least not immediately ? I really don't want to delay my program
I tried contacting the Canadian embassy in my country, and they said they don't answer questions of the phone, and that I need to email them. I did that, and the auto-responder email said that I should receive a reply with 15 working days ... WTF ?!
