It's not a separate document. It's part of the information that is required in the Letter of Employment.

Just wondering if each employer letter is absolutely necessary.

I am currently working for an advertising company as a Graphic Designer. It's a small company, so whenever the boss is unhappy, he will let his anger out on the employees. Also, whenever people make mistakes, our monthly salary will be deducted a bit.
I work way over 37.5 hours/week unfortunately, and we get paid monthly. Each month we get a print-out pay schedule (very informal, deduction including tax, cpp, etc), but at the end of this pay slip, it says "This cannot be used as proof of earnings."
I have T4 from this place, but I don't dare to ask for an employer letter from this boss guy, I work in a completely terrifying place that I wish to make as little contact with the boss as possible.
So does the monthly pay slips and the T4 alone sufficient to prove my work experience? Or could a letter from my co-worker count?

Thank you very much

YES, if you want the experience to be counted.

I am currently working for an advertising company as a Graphic Designer. It's a small company, so whenever the boss is unhappy, he will let his anger out on the employees. Also, whenever people make mistakes, our monthly salary will be deducted a bit.

Find a new job.

I work way over 37.5 hours/week unfortunately, and we get paid monthly. Each month we get a print-out pay schedule (very informal, deduction including tax, cpp, etc), but at the end of this pay slip, it says "This cannot be used as proof of earnings."

CIC does not ask for payslips. They ask for your most recent T4 and Notice of Assessment These are your proof of earnings.

The letter of employment needs to state the hours worked per week. If you have a contract with that information, you can include that as well.

I have T4 from this place, but I don't dare to ask for an employer letter from this boss guy, I work in a completely terrifying place that I wish to make as little contact with the boss as possible.

Can I say again, find a new job!

So does the monthly pay slips and the T4 alone sufficient to prove my work experience? Or could a letter from my co-worker count?

If you have a supervisor other than the terrifying boss, he/she can write the letter.

The instructions state that if for some reason you cannot get a Letter of Employment, that you must write an explanation. I'm sure you're not the first person who is "afraid of the boss" but I'm not sure how that will be evaluated.

Does it matter? Your choices are:
1) Ask your employer to lie (not recommended)
2) State in the letter that there are no benefits
3) Don't say anything about benefits in the letter

Anytime you don't include something they ask for, it's potentially a problem...

Personally, I would wonder if an occupation is "skilled" if there are no benefits, but it may be more common in some occupations than others...

Hi guyz
I am a self employed right now. I am going to complete my Masters in April 2012. The company where i work is small. I talked to my manager/owner of the company if he could take me on a payroll which would help me in getting my canadian experience. My occupation lies in NOC list which qualifies for the canadian experience. But i am not sure if you work in a small company does that affect the immigration process. Suppose if I get t4 and i work 37.5 hours/week for an year, am i eligible to apply for canadian experience class. I am worried about the scale of the company it is small that is why i am not sure if i should be looking for another job or stick here. I feel comfortable here and there is alot to learn.
