I'm currently preparing documents to submit for my express entry. I have some questions regarding to my work reference letter.

What does essential duties and most of the main duties mean?

A little background.

I'm applying under CEC, I have 1 year Canadian work experience as a graphic designer. 1.5 years foreign work experience as a marketing office NOC 1123 with 2 companies.

NOC 1123 Link: https://www23.statcan.gc.ca/imdb/p3VD.pl?CLV=4&CPV=1123&CST=01012011&CVD=122376&Function=getVD&MLV=4&TVD=122372

My question is, I can't really find the essential duties on any of the website. And what is consider as most main duties?

NOC 1123 is a very board occupation "Professional occupations in advertising, marketing and public relations".
I was a marketing officer which only handles the marketing part. There are 16 main duties, but a lot of them are related to public relations and advertising.

Advertising, marketing and public relations are very different things and have very different duties. And working in marketing is not like being a high school teacher which pretty much have very similar job duties. Each companies in different industry has very different marketing plan and might not include many of the duties listed on there.

Their example job titles in NOC 1123 are very board as well, they have art educator, press agent, event marketing specialist, museum educator, marketing co-ordinator...etc They are totally different jobs....It's completely different what they do....

My reference letter of my first job has only 5 out of 16

They are as follow:
1. Develop and implement advertising campaigns appropriate for print or electronic media.
2. Gather, research and prepare communications materials for internal and external audiences.
3. Conduct public opinion and attitude surveys collating and analyzing media coverage
4. Promoting overseas celebrities concerts and events
5. Assist in the preparation brochures, newsletters and other marketing materials.

A little bit of this company is, it's multinational entertainment, record label company. It's not a small company, the company worth billions. I was in the department which only handles oversea celebrities when they are visiting my city. I was in charge of marketing the events and concerts overseas celebrities that are going.
As describe, there's no products or service that needed to be marketed, no sales promotion as majority are events and concerts generally don't go on sale and there's no reports or briefs that I needed to be prepared as it's a concert...

My reference letter of my second job has 7 out of 16 main duties
They are as follow:
1. Develop and implement advertising campaigns appropriate for print or electronic media.
2. Prepare reports, briefs, bibliographies, speeches, presentations, web sites and press releases
3. Develop and organize workshops, meetings, ceremonies and other events for publicity
4. Prepare and deliver educational and publicity programs and informational materials to increase awareness of companies products
5. Arrange news conferences
6. Co-ordinate specials publicity events and promotions for internal and external audiences
7. Assist in the preparation fo brochures, reports, newsletters and other material

This company is a B2B software company which helps Microsoft, Adobe...etc to sell and promote their products. The way they sell is to host and event and invite company executives to learn about the product. Now, there's nothing to be advertise as there are salesperson following up after those events. There's no public opinion or survey...etc

I mean, the job duties listed on 1123 is very very board. Some of the job duties are very similar as well.
For example
Co-ordinate special publicity events and promotions for internal and external audiences.
Develop and organize workshops, meetings, ceremonies and other events for publicity, fundraising and information purposes

Some of the main duties include.
Prepare and deliver educational and publicity programs and informational materials to increase awareness of museums, galleries and other tourist attractions
If I change not the end part to events or products, it will be similar to
Assist in the preparation of brochures, reports, newsletters and other material + Develop and organize workshops, meetings, ceremonies and other events for publicity.

All these job duties are kinda confusing...Do you think if I need to ask my manager to rewrite all those duties? Or should I include a LOE to explain a bit more of my duties.

Thank you very much! Anything would help!
