hey all,... my girlfriend began her permanent residency papers in May of 2011. she came to canada as a live-in caregiver and didnt have the time or money to include her son on the original application. her son was 20 years old when she first started her permanent residency papers, now hes over 22 years but when we called immigration Canada they said it might still be possible to add him to the application if he was under 22 years of age when the permanent residency application was first started. apparently we need to find out if we're past the lock-in date of her application, if not we would like to add her son to the application. the immigration agent emailed me these 3 forms to fill out and send to Vegreville, Alberta.
A new Generic Application Form for Canada (IMM 0008);
(If applicable) A new Schedule A - Background/Declaration Form (IMM 5669);.
(If applicable) A new Additional Dependants/Declaration Form (IMM 0008DEP);

does anyone know which of these forms we need to fill out & with who's information?

The child would need to fill out both of these forms AND your girlfriend has to revise her IMM 0008 and her own Additional Family Information form. She will be very, VERY lucky if they allow her to do this. She's misrepresented herself on her application. "No time or money" is NOT a good enough excuse in CIC's eyes. She should get legal advice ASAP.

hi rjessome, thanks for replying so fast.
maybe i didn't explain myself properly, i was tired when i posted this yesterday and didn't feel like going into detail. we haven't filled out or mailed any of these forms yet, and although theres only room under "reason why dependent is non-accompanying" for one sentence... i wasn't going to write "no time or money" even though its the simplest way to explain it in one sentence. what i meant by "no time" was she was working 7 days a week almost 12 hours a day, and "no money" she didnt have a penny to her name when she got here and from what i understand adding her son to the original application would of doubled the price. if thats not a good reason, i don't know what is. i've been trying to find a lawyer for a couple weeks now, either they're to busy or they wont return our calls... would you be able to recommend an immigration lawyer in montreal? we really appreciate it... thanks for your time.

Ok, so the child is not accompanying! I understand now and that is MUCH better than what I had originally thought which is that the child was not DECLARED. Yes, I can recommend a very good immigration consultant in Quebec. A few actually. I will send you a private message.

hi Roxanne, i spoke with Sylvie Bertrand who tried her best to help me but it turns out shes doesn't specialize in the live-in caregiver program and wasn't able to answer some of my questions. would you know any lawyers or consultants that work with and understand the live-in caregiver program? thank you
