Hello,

My wife had applied for PR under family class sponsorship - her medicals are done and we're waiting for passport request.

We had also applied for visit visa and it got approved last month (visit visa for 10 years). She is now in Canada.

My question is this:
Once the passport request comes, can she submit the passport from within Canada itself?
Is there anything else we need to do?

Someone told me she needs to go back to India and submit the passport from there. Anything we can do to avoid this?

Thanks

Edit: I know she needs to do a re-entry - that is fine. My question is if she can submit her passport for stamping PR without leaving Canada.

Yes, if she is in Canada at the moment, she has the option to submit her passport to Ottawa, if I'm not wrong. However I don't know the details, you will have to do more research.

Thanks a lot for the information Juliana.

We're just trying to avoid flight ticket costs if possible.
Let's see if anyone else has any information on this.

Thanks again!

[QUOTEshe has the option to submit her passport to Ottawa, if I'm not wrong][/QUOTE]

You're not wrong. Takes about 4 weeks with mailing time. When they send the passport request, they include information on submitting to Ottawa if you are in Canada.
