Need Help - What's the minimum IELTS score to apply under General Category

Hi All

I had applied in November 2016 under SPP category and my visa got rejected. I applied for CAIPS notes and got rejection reason as one of the band has 5 score and I had not shown proper carrier progression in my SOP.

College had provided me offer letter and in their college website mentioned overall score is 5.5 and my overall score was 6 out of that in one band it was 5 score . My consultant told me to apply visa under SPP nothing to worry about your IELTS score.

My question - I am applying under general category would like to know is there any minimum requirements in each band and what should be the overall score?

Appreciate your help !!
 
Assuming you are applying for a college program (not university), you should retake IELTS and make sure all of your score in the four categories are at least 5.5. The 5.0 may be a problem for CIC and result in a refused application.

Yes , I have applied in Lambton college and have a offer letter from college ( Financial Planning & Wealth Management)

Can I retake IELTS in general Module and apply for study visa ? As I will be applying under General category there is no specific bandwidth for each module. I have read in forums even student visa can be applied under General module IELTS score. Tried to looking at CIC website could not find anywhere that IELTS should academic or General.
 
IELTS must be academic.
