Hi All,

Once we send our application to CIC and after they receive it , what happens next ?

If they have to return our application in case of any missing data/forms, then how long do they take ?

I heard someone telling in the forum that if one month has passed after the application has been received at CIC, then wait for fee encashed. Does it mean that if one month has passed then our application wont be returned ?
Is this true ??

will we know that our application is accepted only after get our AOR ?

Please let me know. It would be really helpful to make my plan.

Thanks in advance.

Thank you Gurindar for your quick response and clearing my doubt.

I wonder how long they will take to issue AOR . I also have another question - if they return my application for any reason (May God forbid) and if I send back my application with all what they require and if it does not reach them before end of DEC 2014 , will it go under express entry ?

They will return it.

Also, note that CIC is saying Express Entry will launch by early-Jan. It could be as early as Jan 1, or may not be. If the latter, maybe they will still accept until they officially launch it.
I would err on the conservative side and think that Dec 31 is the absolute latest day that the CIC will accept applications which will be processed under the existing system.

There are no set times for the immigration process.

If you want a good idea of how long things take, add your case to Trackitt and use the information there:
http://www.trackitt.com/canada-immigration-trackers/canadian-experience-class

It's up to 90 days to get the AOR at the moment; though it can decrease (mine was only 19 days back in April).

I am bit not clear about Express entry opening. I know currently people biggest concern is this which you have mentioned.
According to me - A person will fall under current CEC structure if a person receives an AOR before or on 31st Dec( if and all Express Entry Starting from January 1st) , To me it look like the day Express entry starts if AOR is not recieved at that moment applications has to come under Express Entry. To me above logic make sense to me , I may be wrong also.

And to be in Express Entry , Person has to be first send Expression of Interest and according to skill set will create a pool from where EMPLOYERS will pick the candidates ( Lottery Actually) , Once picked then the processing of Application will start.

I doubt this is true. I imagine you will be accepted under the current CEC structure if your application arrives at the CIC before January 1st. Otherwise they will be messing around with hundreds of applications send to them between October and December (as well as the the stragglers that haven't been processed from earlier). Just my opinion though.

I know what you are saying , I pray that should not happen to people who are expecting AORs but CIC has done something like this before and recently

Economic Action Plan 2012 proposed to terminate applications and return fees paid by certain Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) applicants who applied prior to February 27, 2008. This proposal was introduced in Parliament under Bill C-38 the Jobs, Growth and Long-term Prosperity Act, which has become law. Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) has terminated Federal Skilled Worker files if applicants: applied before February 27, 2008, and did not have a decision made by an immigration officer based on FSWP selection criteria before March 29, 2012.

For their ease they can do anything I feel but I would love to see things happening contradicting my comment.
