Need help Sponsoring Spouse.

Hi Everybody,
I am at canada and Permanant resident. I wanna take my spouse here from India. But I am right now on EI. And whole this year I didnt make any money and totally on EI. And my girl friend has a child of previous marry. So, question here is
1) Can I eligible to sponsor her as this year I didnt work. Last year income is 30+ which is good enough right ?
2) We dont wanna take a child with her but wanna put name and take a child later, after 5 or 6 years and what can I do ? I mean can I put child name if so where or which form ?
Please help me as I badly need help.

Well first, is she your wife or your girlfriend? Did you declare her when you originally immigrated to Canada? Were you together at that time?

Being on EI is fine as far as sponsorship is concerned in the spousal category. You just cannot be in receipt of welfare or have an undeclared bankruptcy. And regarding the child, you can list them as an unaccompanying dependent, HOWEVER, they will still have to be medically examined in order to maintain your ability to sponsor them at a later date.

she is my wife now as am going to get legally married now. No I didnt put her name when I came here in canada as we were friend at that time. For child if not accompanied with wife still need blood test ? What are the form necessary to filled up by her and mine together as I am going to meet her and get married. So, please tell me what I have to do as its easier to get all paper done while am there.
Ya I am on EI and If I go to school through EI then when EI finished there is another support which I dont know something like student or study benified until I finish my training, does that effect sponsorship too ?

And yes, the child still needs all of the medical tests even if they are not coming. Being a student or on EI is fine. You just CAN'T be receiving welfare (social assistance).

You should get married first and than you can sponsor her. At the meantime make sure you have some proof like emails, chat, pictures, together phone bills between you and your wife because you need to provide them with the sponsorship application when you sponsor her.

Are you going back to her country to get married??? You still have to put her kids on the sponsorship application even if they are not coming with her.

Yes I am going to get marry her legally. Email I have way back like 5 - 6 yrs back old email as we were friend but not recently one, I mean for last couple of years no email. But we are contacting through phone. Ya is there any problem if we put child name even though not comming here with her may be we r thinking sponsor later.

Include as much proof as possible including phone records. And yes, as I've said twice now, you include the child, have them medically examined and indicate they are an unaccompanying dependant. READ THE GUIDE!!!

hi everybody,
Thanks for everybody for helps here. I got confused here about the forms. Lots of forms here and some looks we both have to sign separately.
Part 1 :- Has 8 forms ( one if we use representative)
Part 2 :- Has 5 forms and last
Part 3 :- Its ok as its only about the gegraphical location and stuff like that.
Anybody tell me exactly which form has to fill up as a sponsor and Immigrants and which one has to fill by both, Myself and my spouse. Please help me as I am gonna very soon file for sponsorship. Please Please Please help me.

Application for Permanent Residence [IMM 0008 GENERIC] your spouse
Schedule 1 Background/Declaration [IMM 0008 SCHEDULE 1] your spouse
Additional Family Information [IMM 5406] Your spouse
Sponsored Spouse/Partner Questionnaire [IMM 5490] Your spouse
Use of a Representative [IMM 5476] If needed

Part 3 the regional part has a checklist to be verified

Either way your spouse will send you her part and I would double check everything to make sure it is done properly and organise it all together with supporting documents and evidence and send it to CPC-M

Mu questions is :-

I am on EI right now and may be am planning to go to school and If I go then my EI will stop inbetween my courses and they(college) told me there are another assistance from government if my EI stops. So, I go to college then these helps after my EI will effects my sponsorship or not ?

Depends on what kind of help. Student loans are ok but welfare is not.

Hi Everybody and thanks for all you helps,
I have one more question and also the previous question too as below:-

1) My first question is If I am on welfare or social assistance right now and go to india to get marry and come back and quite welfare and social assistance and then apply for sponsorship. Is that ok ?? Or If I received welfare and social assistance before and it will effects my sponsorship too ??
