Is it legally in your name? Not owned by family/your dad/relatives.

Do include property ownership documents that define your percentage/share + current market valuation (either by yourself or by a CA) + recent property tax receipts + evidence from property portals to support the market indicative rate cited by yourself/CA.

Also, include an explanation about all the other conferences you have attended (point format) + research papers that you have presented + a letter from your employer as to why you must attend this conference/how it would help your current employment.

Do check your post of May 4. You could be missing some documents which you had mentioned in it

got Visa Ack. email from NDVO on 04 June 2018
Got Email from GC key for new message on 07 June 2018
TRV refused with again same key factors

  • I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on your travel history.
  • • I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.
  • • I am not satisfied that you have a legitimate business purpose in Canada.
You are welcome to reapply if you feel that you can respond to these concerns and can demonstrate that your situation meets the requirements. All new applications must be accompanied by a new processing fee.


I don't know whats going on because this time i have send end number of supporting documents but then also TRV refused with same reason.
now i am depressed and i don't think so Canada issue's TRV for attending conference. May be i am wrong .......

My husband is going to the same tech event ( SIGGRAPH) we applied as a family first and got refused and he applied again alone and we’re waiting now :(
Your second refusal doesn’t give me much hope though.

Did you apply with your family or alone?

It does not make sense to me. Why would you seek advice after you had already submitted your new application? Or is the date on your timeline a typo? Anyways.

IRCC issues TRVs to attend conferences.

Maybe the big change in your employer now agreeing to pay for your visit raised a red flag

Oh no, not again. Please don't imagine the worst :p

Your husband's case is different from the OP (I'm assuming your husband's employer is paying for his visit). Your husband has correctly applied for a Business TRV to attend a conference

Ummmm they bought the ticket but he’s paying for the trip ... I’m guessing that’s a bad thing?? His boss wrote a personal letter to the embassy saying he’s sending him to the event because it will help them with a project that he will work on after getting back but didn’t mention anything about paying for the event ticket.

I hope he gets to go to the event, I would be super jealous though I soo wanted to go on this trip.

On a serious note, it's not easy not to worry. Hopefully, your husband will get his TRV soon
