Hello

Good Afternoon,

last Month i had applied online TRV to attend conference in Vancouver Canada, within 11 days i got visa refusal letter mention three reason.
  • Travel history
  • Purpose of visit
  • Having a legitimate business purpose in Canada
For travel history in last ten years i have visited two countries one is Singapore on S-pass and second is Thailand for Tourism

For purpose i have already attached the official invitation cum registration letter from the company its a 45 international conference cum exhibition and it's totally related to my field.

I am not getting the point, what is Having a legitimate business purpose in Canada

I have applied Visitor Visa in purpose of my visit field i selected others and filled (To Attend Conference, Exhibition and Tourism)

Need Help on urgent basis because i want to apply again.
Seniors Please @Bryanna

For travel history IRCC is looking for past travel to countries requiring visas such as the US, UK, Australia.

Purpose of visit means you may not have shown strong enough ties to your home country and IRCC has concerns you may have plans to remain long term / try to work / etc.

What evidence did you include in your application to show proof of ties?

I recommend you go through these cases for suggestions:

After that:
1. Post the list of documents you intend to submit when you reapply

2. Duration of your visit? Are you visiting for the conference or for the conference plus tourism?

3. Have you attended similar work-related conferences abroad? Can you/your employer prove why you and not a co-worker must visit this conference?

4. Your Singapore stay on the S-pass won't help as it was for long duration. Thailand does not count as travel history for a TRV

6. Its 45th international conference which is going to be held in Canada (location for Conference are always in USA or CANADA) not outside any country like in Asia pacific or Europe.

7. Last time when I applied I justified that this conference cum exhibition is directly related to my field of study and is for my Career growth, I am not having any intend to stay in Canada after the conference but in itinerary which I have attached with the last file shown last day I will have a Vancouver city tour and visit some famous places.

8. I Have attended 4 conferences and 2 workshops in India, last year my paper was published in International Conference which is held in India, proof attached I will attach link of my paper and website of Journal including ISBN number and I didn’t attended any conference or workshop outside India

9. Day-by-day detailed itinerary with expense estimates from day one to last day.

10. In one of the given link referred by you are saying attach Company profile + company website details + contact information of key personnel in the company (Head HR/) it should be on company’s letter head or I have to present in my Explanation letter or side letter.

11. I will return on XX date because my pre-approved leaves are expired and I have to join my duty.I am having a permanent job, with job profile of HEAD of Department and from last 10 years I am filling ITR (Tax Return) my family is dependent on me and I am bearing the monthly expenses including the kids tuition fee, proof attached (tuition fee receipt), we are living together on the same address (what I will attach all passport address copies or AADHAAR CARD copy)

on 17 August 2018 Vancouver city tour and see some of the cultural sites available in the area.
I will leave Canada on 18 August 2018 and will be joining college on 21 August 2018 .

1. NOC letter from employer, they don’t have any objection regarding my conference visit in Canada but they denied to sponsoring me, I am the one paying for my airfare, hotel and other expenses.
A key fact that will continue to work against you getting a TRV approval is that you are paying to attend the conference. Normally, employers pay all expenses for work-related conferences

Rest what I mentioned is ok or I have to do some more
Please guide
While you believe the conference is related to the work you do + it would enhance your career, your employer does not concur with your views and has declined to financially support your visit. Also, you have not traveled abroad to other visa-required countries for similar conferences and/or not paid for attending similar conferences out of your pocket.

This would explain why you were refused for not having a 'Legitimate business purpose' and 'Purpose of visit'.

To have any chances of approval, it would be best if your employer financially supports your visit (i.e. pays for airfare + conference registration + hotel + other travel/living expenses that would be incurred during your visit, except for sightseeing + hotel for your stay after the conference)

Thanks dear for your valuable suggestions, now I understand why my Visa was refused, I will request my company to do so... ,Before I am thinking from my side not from VO side.

Back to the old questions:
1. Is your employer paying for your visit? As you had paid for all expenses for this conference, has your employer reimbursed these expenses to you?

2. Has your employer provided their bank statement + tax returns?

3. Do you legally own the property? It is registered in your name?
