Need help plzz with the ARC (Authorization to Return to Canada) ASAP

Hi there!

I was deported to Lebanon under enforced removal order after failed refugee claims, PRRA but i got married in Canada before i leave and now my husband is sponsering me I received an email form Damascus office that i have to apply for the ARC i need help on what should be included in it and is there a formel way to write it they didnt specify and honestly im a little worried coz im not that good in writing letters specially one as important as the ARC and since they asked for it does that mean that my PR application is being approved?? i need help plzzz

Eve1982,

you need to write in the letter what you have done to overcome your deportation and/or reasons why you overstayed, that you are remorseful for the reasons that led up to your deportation and the reason that you feel you should be permitted to return to canada. (ie, family ties, spouse, children ect.)

Did they ask you to pay the fees also?

yeah they did but the thing is that it seems there's a misunderstanding coz when they asked me to leave Canada within a period of time i did leave 3 days before the deadline and i booked my own ticket i was surprised now that they r saying i overstayed :-\
about what lead to my deportation i dont think there's much to say my refugee claim was denied so was my PRRA im really confused here do u think i should get a lawyer to write me that letter?? its a bit expensive but u know my PR is depending on it

Did you report to immigration when you were leaving?

I don"t think that you should hire a lawyer. I think that it is more heartfelt and genuine if you write that letter yourself. Say it from the heart!! Let them know how being seperated has affected your lives negatively and how you plan contribute to the canadain economy by working hard ect.

and yes i did report to the immigration when i left they actually handed me one-time passport becoz i didnt have a passport

Good luck, I had started an ARC thread on here but not many people are on it....try to find it and share your story. At least our timelines might be of some help to others in simialr cases.
Let me know how it goes....also, how much did they request from you for the fees? Just the $400 ARC fee or the removal recovery costs also?
