I have a question regarding the PGWP. If a student has met all the conditions for a 2 year program from a Canadian college but still hasn't received the letter from college confirming the course in order to apply for a work permit. Does he need to extend his study permit in order to apply for the PGWP. It says on the website that a person should have a 6 month valid status in Canada at the time when they apply. So, in that case, his study permit is expiring today. should he apply for extension to be on safe end or should wait for college letter and then apply for restoration of status and work permit at the same time ?
Please response asap as it is a time constraint situation

You have to be holding a valid study permit at the time you apply for a PGWP. It doesn't have to be valid for another six months - but it definitely needs to be valid.

If you allow your study permit to expire - then when you apply to restore your status, you'll need to apply to extend your study permit AND also apply for the PGWP.
