Need help on PR Process under CEC

Hi Friends,

I am returning to India on 01-Sep-2014 as my project is completing and want to Apply PR under CEC before I go. I have all the required documents and qualification and need some information.

1. If I submit the application and leave for India can I do the medicals in India and send the results from there?
2. Is it better to apply from India or in Canada before leaving? will there be any difference in processing times?

Yes, you can do your Medicals from the list of panel doctors that support e Medicals. The list does contain doctors in India.

If you are planning to come back to Canada while your application is processing, apply from within Canada. If not, your residence country. There will be logistics problem for sending passport and other documents if and when requested.

1. Yes you can apply here, go back to India and do medicals there when requested. But once you receive your AOR do not forget to update your contact number and mailing address.

2. It should not make any difference as all CEC applications are processed in Ottawa. But if your application is ready its better you send your application instead of waiting until you return.

Although its a long way to go, just fyi you do not have to send your passports to Canada for stamping, you can request them for stamping in New Delhi when you get the passport request.
