NEED HELP/INFO/ADVICE

Need some expert advice here,
Asking on behalf of a friend of mine. My friend's husband is supposed to be landing here in Canada
at the end of the year as a PR. He already has been approved. The problem is he got into a fight and is currently in
jail for a short period of time. What happens when he lands in Canada? Should he notify CIC of his current situation?
Will they refuse him entry. It's a possible assault charge. Please advise. Thanks in advance to any help given.

This could prevent him from landing, as he is likely now inadmissible to Canada (especially, if it is in fact an assault charge that leads to a conviction).

Do you know what he was charged with at the time of his incarceration?

He can't land with an assault charge. It will get uglier if he's convicted. It's time to pay for an excellent criminal lawyer to get the charges flat out dropped or significantly reduced to a misdemeanor.
