Need help in Foreign Work Experience Calculation

Hi ;D,

My first job started at Oct. 2013. And it requires 3 years of foreign working experience in order to get 50 points (now my foreign working experience is 25 points).

Here is my question:

By the time when my work exp. is 3 years (September or October 2016?), do I need to update my profile manually to get my score updated, or will the system automatically update as I have chosen 'it is my current job'.

Please help.

Thanks!

Your score should get updated automatically since this is your current job. This is similar to change in CRS due to birthday.

Good luck.

Your point will be automatically updated since it's your current job, you can keep an eye on your profile too.

Since your profile gets automatically updated, I would still make sure that you meet the 3 year minimum, if you were to get ITA soon afterwards. The system only goes by months but once an officer actually looks at your file, you actually have to meet the full year requirement, so make sure that on the day you receive ITa that you actually have the full 3 years and not that the system only added the points to your profile because it went by months.

Some people already had to turn down ITas bevause they were awarded the points a few weeks before they had actually completed the required work experience.

Just something to be aware of down the road.
