Hi,

My husband has applied for spouse immigration in canada. I would like to know that is it possible that he comes to visit me here in pakistan and work here for a year and then go back? Will it effect the immigration? Cause the processing time is 24 months which is way too long. Like this we could be together for sometime in between.

Thank you

If your husband is a PR, he cannot sponsor you while living outside of Canada. Short visits are permissible, leaving the country for a year is not. They can deny your application if he leaves the country for extended periods during the sponsorship.

If he is a citizen, he may move to be with you, but he may be asked to provide proof that he intends to re-establish residency in Canada when you get PR, especially if he takes a job in Pakistan.
