Hello,

I am applying for Canada Immigration through ApexVisas ( an immigration consultant) and have found out that the education which i underwent in Arena Animation for 2 years in animation and graphic designs is not considered as legitimate for points..I am scoring the basic secondary level points..

I would like to know that if I get a bachelors degree from Manav Bharti University which is affiliated to UGC will i be scoring my deficit points..My consultant is yet to reply on this..I had proposed the name of Shobhit University degree but they said it wont do me any good..

I have finished 10+2 in 1993 and am a working professional now ( freelancer) but I need to get my required points which is like 52 at the moment and I need it to be 67..ie 15 deficit..

I would be very grateful if anyone can tell me what legitimate studies I can do for a year or 2 to get my required points in my immigration procedure..I am interested in Advertising and mass comm..

any replies would be appreciated..

thanks

1 or 2 years!! Bro this is the last year for FSW program, next year Express Entry i starting, though I haven't gone through rules or news about Express entry it's clear the points system and rules for it would be all together different, plus EE is more focused on matching the supply (your profile) with actual demand (Canadian employers vacancies) so 2 years from now your matching 67 points will not be quite relevant!!

Yes having a recognized course will always add up for your eligibility for any immigration program and also job prospects but then here your Q/aim of doing it to fulfill the 15 pt deficit is totally irrelevant.

If reaching Canada is your aim, you can research on which studies you can take up in Canada itself so that then your job prospects after that will also be high!! So probably applying for a student visa etc

You can research more on this and hear others views but don't take up a study just for fulfilling 67 points requirement as this program is ending this year itself!!

Good luck!!

thankyou brother for the quick and relevant reply..

Actually i wasnt aware of the changes happening from next year ie the Exress Entry..

My only question now is that suppose I go to Canada with a student visa..will I be able to get a parallel job and work so that I can make my funds of sustenance through salary and at the same time study my relevant course ....cause if I have to spend money from my pocket to study in Canada I will not be able to continue..I need a backup for meeting up with my expenses there..please suggest possible situations..

thanks again and looking forward to your insights..

regards

If you want to study in Canada - you will have to spend money out of your pocket (quite a lot of it actually).

You will be limited to working 20 hours a week as a student in Canada. You should expect you'll make minimum wage since you'll be a student and only working part time. The money you make working part time will cover some of your living expenses - but certainly won't be nearly enough to cover all of your living expenses or tuition.

you've got the reply above from a senior member!! You work as a freelancer so finding work should not be a big issue for you but as mentioned you'll only get limited time for it.

You can search online for Cost of living, Course fees etc and get an idea how much you'll be able to earn and take your call. Only you can do this analysis for yourself, good luck!!
