Dear Everyone,

Today, I received PPR in my email. I have several questions. Please bear with me. My file was transferred from Buffalo to Los Angeles. 2 days ago, i sent email to LA visa office asking if they received my medical report and within minutes, they replied that they did have my results and my case is still in process. Today I received PPR in my email.

I need help especially from those who applied from US and got PPR and their visas. Please please guide me. Thank you.

1. Is this email normal? i mean, should i be expecting a regular mail besides the email?

2. To those who got PPR from Los Angeles, can you suggest where I could get my photos done?

3. I am quite confuse on how to send my passport as I am not a fan of post office really. Should I use USPS and get a return envelop which I should have paid already? I don't understand the procedure. please help me and explain the instruction below.

You may send us your passport(s) by post or by commercial courier. Please ensure that you enclose a tracking number for your return envelope. We will return your passports by courier envelope ONLY where you have pre-paid the courier company for the return service or if you have an account with the courier company and enclose a completed shipping label (we do not accept payment in the form of check or credit card for expedited return by courier or express mail). In the absence of pre-payment of the return freight, we will return your passports by certified mail via the US Postal Service. USPS Express or Priority mail envelopes which do not carry the appropriate postage (metered postage not accepted) will be returned by certified mail.

Email is normal. You are not likely to get a paper copy in the mail.

To send your passport, you can use either USPS or Fedex, UPS, etc....

Whichever you use, include a pre-paid return envelope, and be sure to keep a copy of the tracking number for yourself. If you don't include a prepaid return envelope, it will be returned by regular mail.

I'm not sure what's not clear, and I feel Like I'm just repeating their instructions, so perhaps you can be more specific about what you don't understand?

As for photos, be sure to print out a copy of the photo instructions and take them to any photographer. Even Walmart often will do passport-type photos, but you will need to bring the specifications with you.

Hi,
Though my visa office is London-England; but I received the PPR on email as a response to my email query just like you. Ideally they immidiately post the PPR through post to you (as in my case email communication was July 12 and letter issues and posted by CHC-London for PPR on July 13). You can go ahead and send the passports or if you want, you can wait for another week or 10 days untill you get the posted letter for PPR.

Photos should not be an issue. In the email you must have got the photos specification; so get it done accordingly.

Hope this helps...

fellow members, thank you for your wishes and for your replies. I really appreciate your feedbacks.

to those whose visa office is Los Angeles, have you tried going to the visa office personally rather than mailing the passports? though my PPR letter did not state any option other than sending through mail.

SkilledPro,
LA does not give the visa immediately. It takes then 3-4 days.
I went in person and gave them the passport and post paid return envelope. They sent the passport back after a week.

Hi Alias-los-angeles-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca

Hi gjp - pls tell me if you email LA office first to ask if you could bring your passport personally? or was it written on your PPR instructions? please advise.
