It has been 2 months since we've arrived in Canada...

Yes. We immediately got our Alberta Health card since we did not receive any from B.C. That is another thing that I liked with Alberta. No grace period for health insurance and at the same time no monthly premium. In B.C., I believe we had to pay for about $150 per month.

I went to the website of the province I wanted to register in ie. CLPNA (Alberta) and CLPNBC (British Columbia). They have the requirements needed for International Educated Nurses. Job condition in Canada - Moving from USA _working on H1b visa

In my opinion, you should keep ur options in the U.S. open until u find a job here. We were in the same situation as you and we decided to leave our jobs in the U.S. to come here. It is hard not having any income and seeing all our savings going down. What u can do is take a leave of absence...

Hi! From what I gather from this forum is that if CIC needs more documentation from you, they will ask along with medical request. How long does it take to get the passport back after a decision has been made?

I think it depends on the visa office. Mine changed to decision made but didn't receive my passports back until about ten days after. So don't worry your pp might be on the way back. Good luck and Happy landing.
