I left the Philippines for Canada as an HCCP while my girlfriend was 8 months pregnant with my baby. A month after my arrival in Canada, my daughter was born. However, she did not get my last name because I wasn’t there to sign the necessary documents, and my girlfriend and I are not married yet. In my daughter’s birth certificate, the father’s name is left blank.

I’m applying for permanent residency now. Should I fix my daughter’s last name first before applying for PR?

What do you think is the best to do? speed up your PR application and solve this in the future or fix your daughter's name add her (and your girlfriend) to your pr application and slow down your process. After looking for legal advise you will come out with a decision.

Nothing to do with slowing down the process as he cannot solve it in the future. If he doesn’t include his daughter in his PR application then that is misrepresentation and he could never sponsor his child for PR.
