Hi all,

I am asking this for a friend.

She got her mom a super visa that she has had since 2014, 10 year visa.

She came on Nov 20 2014 and returned on Jun 20 2015.

Then she came on Dec 13 2016 then went to US on Jun 3 2017 returned Jun 13 2017.

She was told by immigration to leaving Canada before Dec 13 2017

Would you know why they are asking her to leave? Nothing else was told to her, just that she had to leave by Dec 13 2017. She will have been in Canada for a total of 570 days only when it will be Dec 13 2017.

Is this right? Sorry I don't know much about super visas so I came to this forum for help.

Thanks!

Hi,

How long someone is allowed to remain in Canada would depend on the CBSA officer s/he meets at the POE.

Although her super visa is valid for 10 years, she cannot stay for 10 years at a stretch. The maximum someone can remain on initial entry is two years (without an extension) if allowed by the immigration officer

Cheers
