Hi.. My girlfriend got her AINP approval this year and will leave for Canada February 2012. Can we get married here and update the request so she can include me or is there a way where we can be together there? I was waiting for the result of the annulment of my marriage while her request was being processed. and now that the result of the annulment was out, I am now single and want to marry my girlfriend for 8 years, but the the problem is I was not included in the request since I was technically married then. I need help on this.

If you guys get married here then you need to inform the the province that nominated her and also inform and contact the Canadian embassy in your country to include you in the nomination. However, this would significantly delay the processing of your spouse's documents and she would have to wait for you before she or both of you can go to Canada.

Whatever you do though don't get married and fail to inform the province and Canada of the marriage. Otherwise, there would be no hope for you to get sponsored.

Bonne chance!

I'm sorry I forgot to mention that we are not yet in Canada right now and I don't know if it's OK to marry her here in our country, and then just inform the province that nominated her? They might ask her why we didn't get married so that I would be included in the nomination.

So I have to go there as a tourist, marry her in Canada(just to be sure to inform the province that nominated her that we got married), and i have to wait in my country for my approval? I think that would be fine as long as I will be with her in the future.
