DUTIES

This unit group includes those who provide services to management such as analyzing the operations, managerial methods or functions of an organization in order to propose, plan and implement improvements, or analyzing advertising needs and developing appropriate advertising plans. They are employed by management consulting firms, advertising agencies and throughout the public and private sectors or are self-employed.


Main duties
Management consultants perform some or all of the following duties:

* Analyze and provide advice on the managerial methods and organization of a public or private sector establishment
* Conduct research to determine efficiency and effectiveness of managerial policies and programs
* Conduct assessments and propose improvements to methods, systems and procedures in areas such as operations, human resources, records management and communications
* Conduct quality audits and develop quality management and quality assurance standards for ISO (International Organization for Standardization) registration
* Plan the reorganization of the operations of an establishment
* May supervise contracted researchers or clerical staff.

Advertising and promotion consultants perform some or all of the following duties:

* Assess characteristics of products or services to be promoted and advise on the advertising needs of an establishment
* Advise clients on advertising or sales promotion strategies

Dear All,

How I can get detailed job description for "methods and procedures analyst" that is part of NOC 1122. Since NOC 1122 contains a varity of job titles therefore it is difficult to follow details given in above post.

Further, kidly advise me how I can proceede where there is overlaping of functions like "methods and procedures analyst" and systems auditor's functions normally overlap in organizations.

There is no separate duties mentioned for methods and procedures analyst.

Look at the main duties of 1122, how much of it does systems auditor' do?

NOC 1122 Main duties

Management consultants perform some or all of the following duties:

I have performed at least above functions of NOC 1122 (methods and procedures analyst) as system auditor. So can I consider myself for NOC 1122 even if job title is different but with similar responsibilities?

Yes and no. I will try give you an example.

A college instructor grades papers, sets exam, lectures, etc.
A professor at a university grades papers, sets exam, lectures, etc.

I don't think (not that i know for sure), just because someone does the instructor job that they can apply for the professor job.

I think you can do all those jobs as a management consultant but say doing those jobs as a computer personnel (as an example) won't get you the visa. What does a system auditor do? Is it like a management consultant? do you consult to outside companies or within a firm (this may or may not be a big requirement but i wanted to ask so i get a clearer picture)? what is your everyday job involve?

By answering those, someone else could help in determining whether this NOC fits for you.
On the other hand, even if we say it doesn't fit, you may get lucky with CIC.

The reason for this confusion is that constituent profiles of NOC 1122 have not been adequately explained (as in above).

System audits are not like financial audits and are not required by law ( system audits are not mandatory). Depending on assignment, we normally form cross-functional teams to review and propose automated designs for organizational processes. For example, documenting manual processes, designing computerised processes to meet organizational needs and review of all those processes to find any gaps.

Any way you are right about (yes/no) and this is due to missing details for NOC 1122.

I appreciate your feedback.

I do this for our company's on going internal projects. Normally special teams are created by gathering expertise from different
departments. So my role is not of audit per se but of an expert on the filed. Not all of my output is called audit report.

You should cast your job as internal consulting, thats what it sounds like. I am not saying they will or will not buy it, but their description is somewhat vague too. If your job was doing what you do for other companies, that would make it easier. But from what you say, it sounds like internal consulting anyway.

Even I am planning on applying under NOC 1122. My job title was Compliance Auditor and then progressed to Sr.Data Validation Specialist. My main job duties were: conducting internal audits of our contractors and preparing them for the State/Federal Audits. We reviewed their Internal Controls processes and procedures (including all company policies) and provided recommendations as per the State/Federal rules and regulations. I am assuming I fit into this category, right!?

Any suggestions?
