Hi guys,
Recently I got an email from IRCC to submit my passport. My intake will be on this January 2023. However, the agency I am using is telling me that the sit for my program is already full. They are asking me to defer my intake or change to another program. I find it unfair and I already paid for the program.
I cannot help feeling angry and sad because it’s been a long process that I have try to get the study visa( this is my 3 attempts) and finally there telling me it’s full for the intake

what can I do guys??..need some advise please

Submit your passport and Defer your intake to next semester, you don't have to apply for a new permit.

As tainted the images of agencies are, it is not the agency that is asking you to defer but the college/university you are enrolled to. This can come from a variety of reasons, one of them being, you taking time to send them your study permit (which is not your fault but should have lodged your file earlier). Take the intake which is within 120-150 days and you wouldn’t even have to notify IRCC about it.

you can defer to fall, or spring, it will depend on what is available the earlier the better

Contact the school directly to confirm there are no spaces available. See if there's any chance they can accommodate you for the January intake. Don't go through your agent. Do it yourself with the school directly.

If there are really no spaces available, then the options are as you've said, either to defer to the next intake or change to another program with the same school.

hi..is it true I don’t have to inform IRCC if I were to defer my intake?..it will not affect my current visa? because my DLI when I am apply for my visa my class should be in January. So if I were to defer for sure they will question me right?..why didn’t I join on January

hi
but if I change to another program I will need to write to IRCC again right?..the reason why am I changing my course out of a sudden?
My concern now actually is that IRCC might change their mind about my application as I am still waiting for my passport now

Yes if you are not changing your DLI , you need to show your new letter of acceptance at port of entry and the officer will issue your study permit .

You need to submit a new study permit if your changing DLI, but if your changing your course within the same DLI then no you don't need to submit a new application
