I am a u.s citizen. My pr is already expired. I didnt meet the esidency requirements but I got hired from a company inside canada and expected to work soon but I traveled back to the u.s. The qestions are: what will happen when I return to canada with my expired pr card? (I am holding a u.s passport). Since I found a job but my pr card expired and I didnt meet requirements. Will the border officer let me in without reporting? Can I prove them that I have a job now and will live and stay in canada. Will they still report me?

They will let you in, but you really don't know if they will report you until you try. If the CBSA officer has had a bad day and is feeling aggressive, you could have a rough entry. A lot will depend on just how many days you are missing.

Its your job to keep track of your absences from Canada. The border agent may ask you to list all your absences in the last 5 years. They can refer you to an inland CIC Office for interviewing if it seems to be taking too much time so the I'll get a pass if this takes long angle doesn't necessarily work. CIC also keep a record of your entries and they can/may have data shared with CBP on your US travels. How many days are you missing? Mention the job if they have concerns it may just save your PR. On the other hand the border agent may just wave you in on the presumption you are a visitor or some other random fact such as that its almost the end of their shift and they can't deal with the hassle (read paperwork) of reporting you. As above it depends who you meet at the border and how they deal with you.
