Hi all,
I own my own Pvt ltd co. With my husband. It is a construction contracting company. Have been working for 4 years now. I have a 10% stake in the company. I handled the marketing, accounts and design aspects involved in our projects.
I draw a salary from the past 1 and half year..before which most of the transactions were done in cash. I want to know if i can show it as my work experience for express entry and can i apply through FSW.. ?
Thank you in advance for all your suggetions.

  • if the applicant is self-employed, articles of incorporation or other evidence of business ownership, evidence of self-employment income and documentation from third-party individuals indicating the service provided along with payment details (self-declared main duties or affidavits are not acceptable proof of self-employed work experience).

Thank you, for your quick response..
A part of my doubt is clear. I also need to know, if my husband (director) can sign the experience letter for me. Plus i just have two clients i worked with in the past 1& 1/2 year. Will their reference letter be sufficient to validate my work hours and experience. Transactions were part cash, for which i have receipts along with online transactions through company's current account and my savings A/c. Can it be used as proof of payment?
Plus i have a registered LLP through which i am dealing with a few other clients for past 2 months. Can i show it as combined. Will it account for anything in EE application?

IMHO, 10% would be too little to prove ownership. I would not claim as self employed but as an employee. But then again, reference letter from your husband will not be adequate on its own. You will have to get creative and probably supplement this with reference letters from clients that you have personally worked with as well as any other additional documentation that you can think of that proves you worked on your duties listed in your NOC.
