Need Help -- CEC Working Hours

Hi Guys,

I started working on Aug 3, 2011 and then last month, I was laid off. My last working day is July 23, 2012. During my stay in the company, I worked 40 hours per week and till July 23, 2012, my total working hour is 2032. ROE also stated the 2032 working hours. I am now considering to apply for CEC but I am not sure if I qualified for the full-time work.

Can anyone help me with this? Thank You very much

if ur a canadian graduate, u are qualified but if ur temporary worker, ur not qualified

Thanks for your reply. I finished my bachelor degree in Canada and got my post graduate work permit in Sept 2010 and will expire in Sept 2013. But I found about the full time work definition "For the Canadian Experience Class full-time equivalence, or 1,950 hours of paid employment over a period at least of 12 months will also be considered". Does it mean that I have to work over 1950 and at the same time i have to work at least 12 months?

Yes, you have to work a minimum of 12 months AND a minimum of 1950 hours. At least you still have a year on your PGWP, it does not have to be 12 months in the same job...

1950hrs can be obtained in 52 weeks of full time employment(37.5hrs/week) or more than 52 weeks if ur working as a part timer.
The answer is yes, ur qualified. u don't need to work more hours. once u got 1950hrs, ur good to go. make sure that ur occupation fall under level A,O or B and that ur reference letter stated all the details from the documents checklist. u need to pass IELTS test as well and include the original in ur application. all the best

The question is I have not qualified for one year. I still need two more weeks to meet the one year requirement though..

The answer is yes, ur qualified. u don't need to work more hours.

Read again - the OP has not completed 12 months...

AT LEAST 2 weeks... Don't cut it too close!
