1. The DLI is supposed to inform CIC that you are no longer attending classes. If you haven't attended in the past 150 days, you may find that your study permit has been cancelled.

I have a friend who hasnt been in school for 5 years but renew hes study permit and get approved why havent the school contacted cic ???? Im confused and he just got an approval last year but switching school

Strange since he should have provided transcripts as well. He may be falsifying his records. The school is also not doing there job. You should be calling CBSA to advise them of this issue
