Need help .... about spouse open work permit.....

My Friend have one question and he wants me to put it in this forum as I told him about this forum and all the advice that I got in recent past post.

HE just got his PR and he is going to married soon.

H want to ask about his wife??

How he can bring his wife here to Canada??

What is the family sponsorship program??How much time it will take I heard that it took around 2-3 years..

Does he bring his wife on Open Work PErmit????

This is regarding inland PR application.

His would be wife is still living in another country.They are planing to get married this December.

Then he wants his wife to brig here in Canada as he is PR holder.

And he does not know the right way....


Like should he go for visitor visa.....

or Open Wrok permit....

Or Spousal sponsorship....

She doesn't qualify for an open work permit just by being married to him. The spousal open work permit is only open to international students and foreign workers. She would only qualify for an open work permit if she first comes to Canada on a TRV and he sponsors her for PR inland.

How long it takes depends on a number of things like how they apply (inland vs. outland) and where the wife is from.

They can apply for outland spousal sponsorship from their home country.
Or apply for tourist visa to canada, then once in canada you can apply for inland spouse sponsorship together with open work permit. You can only apply open work permit with your inland application.
