Hello Sir/Mam,

I am an Indian citizen, living in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA on H4 visa with my husband, who is on H1B visa. Also My sister lives in Alberta, Canada with his husband, both are having PR. The matter is:

My single parent, my mother lives in India alone. She already has valid USA visitor visa for 10 years with multiple entry till Oct 2017. She also had visited USA in past. Now we are planning to call her USA and Canada both to visit. USA visit is not an issue but she doesn't have Canada visitor visa. Our query and confusion are:

1. If we plan to apply for her Canadian Visitor Visa in India, does she need to go to Canadian Embassy in person to get visa? or she can get it at home? fyi. She is old and can't go alone.

2. Should we apply her Canadian Visitor visa from India or USA? fyi, there is no family/friend to support her for this process in India. And we don't know how to apply for it from USA. I have visited many websites, which explain about how to apply for Canadian Visitor visa but did not get it thoroughly.

3. What is the different between Visitor visa and Super Visa? Kindly clarify. Which one would be better here for my mother to apply?

4. As my sister is having Canadian PR, are there any chances for my mother to get PR for her too?

Kindly direct me for the above queries, so that we can have some idea about how to proceed. Your suggestions in this regards would be great help to us.

Thank you. :)

Regards,
Kinz

I can answer but based on our own experience in applying for the same in the Philippines (for sure some may not apply).

1) We used an agency that specializes in such applications and if you have them in India we strongly recommend it. Mom picked it up from the agency.

2) From her home country, that would be India.

3) We opted for a regular visit visa to avoid having to provide proof of medical insurance required for the super visa. In the end she was granted a multiple-entry visa for as long as her passport was valid for. Super Visa could be valid for 10 years.

4) Your sister may apply to sponsor her, there is a chance. The application cap for 2015 was reached át some point on January 5th, so she would have to wait until 2016 and pretty much get her application in on January 2nd.
