Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Here is my situation:

I am currently living in India and got a job offer of 2 years validity from Manitoba employer. My employer has applied for the LMIA, which we are expecting to arrive anytime soon. I am going to apply for the work permit application as soon as we receive the LMIA.

At the same time I have a permanent job offer from Saskatchewan employer who is willing to apply for SINP for me but my employer wants me to apply for the work permit as soon as he get nomination for me from SINP and start working for him. He is not willing to wait for me until the Federal part gets approved for my SINP Permanent residency.

Now my question is:

Am I eligible to apply for two work permit application at one time ? If both of them get approved, will both of them be valid ?

What option you suggest me to take? I really want to apply for both work permits, just in case one go decline another one may get approved.

Jobbank is the best place to search since it it mandatory to advertise there when applying for a LMIA

I used indeed.ca as it is quite east to apply through this website and job postings are there from almost all provinces. You can also use saskjobs.ca

I have read that having 2 WP applications in at the same time can seriously slow the process down so it could end up taking longer to apply for both at once than it would to do one at a time. It is not advised by CIC to have more one application in at the same time.

I have grown up in Manitoba so I am naturally going to tell you that Manitoba is the better province to live in. Really they are similar in many ways but I think Manitoba has more growth happening than Saskatchewan.

Thanks Mbgirlfriend. I read the same today while doing the eligibility test. So, I will process with my Manitoba WP application first and if I am unlucky then I will go for Saskatchewan SINP application.

Wow..you from Manitoba. Good to hear that. One question I am little doubtful about. Suppose even if I have 6 months work exp from Manitoba as a lower skilled employee, say Fast food counter attendent. Am I still eligible to apply the employer sponsored MPNP. What are the chanes of getting PR if I apply working as a lower skilled employee. I have great work exp. but initially my employer want to hire me in Manitoba as a food counter attendent.

I am not sure if you still have to have 60 points on the worksheet in order to be eligible when you are currently working in Manitoba I know they give priority to people who have the best chance of settling in Manitoba so if you are already living and working in Manitoba they will want to make it as easy for you to stay. I am just not sure if you also have to meet the 60 points. When my BF applied he had a job in Manitoba and scored very high on the worksheet and his application was very fast (well fast compared to most applications). Try the worksheet out just to see how many points you will have after working here for 6 months as well and that should give you a good idea of your chances.

Here are a few links for you about the MPNP, and if you have any questions about living in Manitoba feel free to ask.

Thank you for your reply,

According to the points table I score 73 Points which looks good to me. So,basically application success depends upon points calculation, doesn't matter if you are in skilled occupation or just with an entry level job. Thank you. I will be in touch if any furrther questions.

I think you would be classed as a lower skilled level job. You would be in the "D" level. But, yes according to this link as long as you have worked in Manitoba for at lest 6 months and are still working here with a written full time job offer when you apply then you are eligible. I am not even sure if you need the points to apply when you are already working in Manitoba and have a long term job offer. But having a job and 73 points is good and will only help your application.

Here are more links and a quote from one of them. It does not say anything about what level of job you must have just that you have to have a full time job.

Manitoba Employment: Applications are accepted at any time year-round from temporary foreign workers and international student graduates who are currently working in Manitoba, having been offered a permanent job after six months with their Manitoba employer.

Thanks for your help. Yes, this is mentioned nowhere on the website that lower skilled occupation are not eligible. This is what I wanted to confirm, because if this would be the case then I would have gone for a skilled occupation. Now, to get into the country I wouldn't mind doing a lower skilled job.

Thank you for all the information. My doubts are cleared now:)
