In the citizenship application form under section 10 and 11, the applicant has to write address and employment information covering the 5 year eligibility period.

My question is when did this eligibility period start? Is it from the date of landing as PR in Canada?

Because last 5 years from the date of application on the applicant's continuous physical 1095 days stay in Canada stretched back to time when the applicant was not even a PR and was living in the country of origin. It is logical to me that they will not seek information beyond PR landing date but the following instruction made me confused.

" You must provide information that covers the five year eligibility period, being sure to account for each month. Do not leave any gaps during this period and do not leave this section blank. If you do, your application will be returned to you."

Any feedback will be much appreciated.

Thank you.

5 years from the day you sign the application, regardless of your PR status. If you lived in Germany 5 years ago, you put your german address and german job in the appropriate sections.

Please help. Planning to apply this week.

I live in Canada from December 27th, 2017 to April 17, 2023. The only time I went outside Canada was when I went on vacation in Mexico for 4 days.

Since I stayed in Canada for more than 5 years (except those 4 days in Mexico) is it correct to say that put only my Canadian address (for the 5 years of eligibility) in the application?

Thank you,

TJX

Yes - you do not need to put address for the period you went out on vacation, work trips etc. as your residence was Canada during that period. It’s only if you moved out for longer.
